July in Wisconsin

What a crazy few weeks, we've been working hard, traveling far and enjoying life between being sick from that flu, storm systems interrupting our systems, and old age setting in.
We had a nice weekend in Wilmot at the agility show we found.  We were 1 of 3 vendors that set up there, and everyone was excited to see us again.
The weather was only nasty 1 day, I got a river through my tent but all was ok once it dried out LOL.
We're having a good weekend here in Waukesha, WI just west of Milwaukee about 60 miles...the rain has stayed away and in the mornings it's actually cool, in the high 60's to low 70's.  Of course it does get up into the 80's during the day.  I'm so thankful that we have air conditioning when I'm ready to call it quits.
Peter is working hard and churning out the leashes.  We got a new batch of leather in last week which makes it easier for him to make the longer leashes.
This show has been great for us in the past and so far is quite disappointing this year.  The high cost of gas and the lack of work is showing in the cash box.
We've got to get to shows where people are not being affected by the lack of jobs in a certain area.
ONto Canfield oh next week, we'll see what happens with that one.

Cocker National

Long week, we got here on wednesday, Peter drove the whole way stopping as needed.  I was setup by 4pm and we got to the fairgrounds by 6.
Tired, I then got up early the next morning as soon as it was light out took my bike and rode in 5 + miles to the convention center.  Most of the way was on the bike path but the last bit was through town on the sidewalks.  No trouble at all, Indy is very friendly to bicyclists.
Boy was I wiped out, some friends of mine (vendors of jewelry) happened to be setup right beside me and insisted on driving me back to the fairgrounds- insisting that they would pick me up each morning and deliver me home each night.
It's been working out great and I'm not totally wasted from riding.
I caught whatever Peter had but not as bad, I ran a slight fever but no diarrhea, just a bit a nausea.  It's been going around, the scissor sharpener guy has had it for 5 weeks off and on... I'm sure we caught it from him at the last show where we saw them. Oh well, such is life!
The cockers are a delight to watch, there are so many different colors, and they are such happy little dogs.    The show ones have very long coats that float when they prance around the ring.  The ones that do agility are cut short and the coat curls and the ears flap as they run.  Each are so cute... very different looking from the one I had 35 years ago, the ears are longer and lower set and the noses are shorter and the colors are multiple!!
The show will be over tomorrow, we're doing ok sales wise, not as good as the Sheltie national in CO but better than the Aussies.  There are about 400 dogs entered, many breeders have shown up but there are not many people from the coasts, mostly from the midwest.  There are some people from England and Australia and Japan (a couple of each) but otherwise a very small national.

Praise God from Whom all blessing come!!

Peter's fever broke!!  He's feeling much better today, weak as a tiny puppy but better enough to get on the road.  We're stopping at all the rest areas and he's trying to eat something.
Don't know if he'll let me drive or not but we have to get to the convention center by 1pm to setup.
Thanks for all prayers and keep it up.  He's got a couple of days of recuperation to go.

Sick Peter

Peter has been running a fever all night, he says that he feels like it's food poisoning but I ate everything that he ate except for some swiss cheese that was in a sandwich... he didin't eat much of it.
When he wakes up this AM we'll see if we need to take him to the Urgent care facility.

Prayer for Peter

Peter has been working really hard to keep up with our schedule.  At times it's been rough on him.  He works the leather which he totally enjoys doing... he drives the RV which he insists on doing and he takes care of the tanks, dumping and filling which is necessary.
There have been lots of stress this year, the RV is getting older and we've been doing lots of driving down some very bumpy roads (literally)  The frame is messed up where the tag axle connects and needs about $4000 in repairs which we probably won't have available until fall.
This last weekend we were in Monroe MI and the trailer got a flat tire, I got some of the guys who work at the fairgrounds to switch out the flat with the spare so we were good there, but then the steps decided to stop working which is very hard for Peter to pull himself up into the RV without.  One of the wires shorted out and I'll be able to repair it when the weather is better.
He also used his bicycle this last weekend to ferry special leather orders back and forth from the RV to the tent which is quite a strain on him.
So he was very tired when we took off yesterday afternoon from Monroe. We got down the road about half way to Indianapolis and stopped for the night just north of Ft Wayne IN at a KOA there.
I unhooked the trailer so we could get level and hooked up the main electricity but he still insisted that he had to go out and hook up the secondary to run both airs since it was still hot and muggy all night long.
He was shaky inside yesterday, felt very depleted and super tired.
This morning he felt better and we had light breakfast of cereal and banana.  I went into Staples to take care of ordering more business cards that we'll pick up on our way to WI in a week and when I got back things had changed.
He was pale, sweaty and said that he had thrown up involuntarily which is VERY unusual for him.  He said that his stomach was cramping and he was in alot of pain.  I got him a bental which is for that and we drove over to walmart to finish shopping.
I got out of walmart about an hour later and he's asleep in his chair still in alot of pain.  He's now lying down in bed and expecting me to awake him soon so that we can get down to Indy.

4th of July

Hoshi doesn't mind the fireworks at all, they were not that loud up here in Monroe just a few put off by the city.  Nougat barked at them and ran to Peter to be held.
Hoshi and I took a jaunt down to the little corner market about 1.5 miles away, when it got cooler of course.
It was a hot weekend, up in the high 80's both days, not much breeze either.  We drank lots of water and tried to stay cool.  At night wasn't much better but the air conditioner in the RV is working great so we stayed nice and cool.
The leather came in and Peter got right to work making my racks look better.  Instead of the turquoise that I ordered, I got navy instead but it was delightfully blue!!  Peter made some light weight out of it with the three lightweight colors we've got, red, tobacco, & black and it looked great with all of them.  I sold a few pieces of it this weekend.
We are now headed west... going down to indy this next week for the cocker national.  We had a real Eyore day today... first the tire on the trailer was flat and had to put the spare on.  Then the steps on the RV shorted out while down and had to jury-rig them up.  They workers at the fairgrounds put the spare tire on for me, they are really nice here.
We're heading into a storm, it sure has cooled down alot from the rain... that part is nice.  I'm still having alot of pain with my right inside elbow... I'm sure it's the fybromyalgia but i wish it would respond to Aleve or other pain killers.
